I was listening to the Shredd & Ragan show on 97 Rock this morning on my way into the studio and I heard them mention for the second time they are calling on bands from WNY to record a Rush cover and send it in to them. They're trying to help with jump starting a memorial to Neil Peart in St. Catherine's, Ontario Canada. I'm not in a band anymore, but I can still help by offering my recording skills. So, to any band in WNY who would like to record a cover of a Rush song to submit to Shredd & Ragan, I will offer my services of recording, mixing, and mastering of that song for one tiny fixed fee of $300 (NYS sales tax included). I can't work for completely free, but that's pretty close! My normal rate for such a job would be no less than $1011. The details are a maximum of 12 hours of studio time for recording, I'll spend as long as I deem necessary to give it my best mixing job (one free mix revision if you feel it's necessary), and then for the icing on the cake I'll give it my best job at mastering (also one free mastering revision if you feel it's necessary). It's a ridiculously great deal for any interested band and it's a great way to help a cool cause.
One thing to note is the house drum kit is nowhere near as gigantic as Neil Peart's was. If you really want to rock it like Rush your drummer better have a big kit that's tuned up with new heads. If you're interested in taking me up on this one-time deal. Please email [email protected] to set it up.
